About me

Born in Trinidad and raised in England I was privileged enough to grow up and experience different cultures. In Trinidad, my Hindu grandma (Nani) walked around barefoot, was so at one with nature and herself. She was one of the warmest, most generous and kindest people you could ever meet. When greeting her we would touch her feet (Charan Sparsh) in a sign of respect towards her and as an acknowledgement of her wisdom and achievement. She would touch the top of our head in return to bless us. Charan Sparsh is said to work as the nerves in our body end at our fingertips and toes. When you touch the feet of someone your fingertips are joined to the feet of the opposite person and the energy of your bodies are interconnected. By touching the top of our head to bless us, she would close the circuit.

Growing up in England I learnt about Jesus and the significance of him washing the disciples feet. In fact, feet seem to play an important part in so many religions and cultures.

However it wasn't until I was pregnant that I learnt about the benefits of reflexology for promoting labour and deep
relaxation. I found it fascinating how sensitivities in my feet so accurately reflected sensitivities in body. I wondered why feet that we use and put through so much, are taken for granted. Why when we say 'put your feet up' that we rarely do.

Three children later, I decided that I wanted to become a Reflexologist. I love it and look forward to every client treatment as if I were being treated myself.
